Title: Advancing a stock HO cam
Post by: 1WLD BRD on February 22, 2006, 09:09:49 PM
Has anybody here done it with a stock HO cam?

Since I finally got my Gear drive set in the mail, I have been thinking of advancing the stock cam a couple of degrees, in my '88 stang for a little more bottom end torque (like it needs more:hick: )  and was curious if anybody else has done this before, and what were the results?

Hi i have a good example after playing for a while on dyno with my cam just for fun. cam retard -2 on avg was 7hp less than +2 but to keep my cam degreed at card spec it needed to be -2. you really should degree a cam before playing with moving it around because valves and pistons dont agree with each other. good luck
