Here are the pics of the progress on the cowl hood. And the '85 Cougar.:hick:
Progress has been slowed due to the cold weather, but at least I finally have a suspension back under the cat.:giggle:
nice kick in the jock dude....lol
thats so mean...
nice progress on the hood dude.
whatever car is in that pic needs to go to the crusher.
That's not the cougar I sold him so it's all good.
That hood is looking pretty good RJ keep it up!
my bad... :(
Your cat will see the crusher long before that one does man.
Doubt it, there isn't any rust on my car.
Lol not yet Paul! I do have a dent in my quarter though.
Hey RJ.. check this out
(http://www.baxo.ca/cougar/baXoandRJscats.jpg)
That's when I took the cat to show you but you weren't home so i snagged a pic of both of them together.. that's both your cats in their glory days.. they'll never be seen together like that again.
Neat picture! I wish I knew your car was for sale, baXo... you could've had an auction on your hands, lol!
That picture is awsome man. I forgot about you taking it. It's obvious by Cougar SE's posts that he has never seen a full restoration done to a car before. We'll see if the comments are the same when the car is complete.
Sorry Derek. Alex knows my plans and goals for my '85 and I think he wanted to be a part of it. ;)
Its obvious by 1WLD BRD's posts he has never seen inside my garage.
Claude and RJ stop bickerin' or I'm giving you both a time out
MEOW! Cat fight. :D
That would make your day wouldn't it Eric? watching a web-text based cat figt on the big screen. ;)
You busted me Alex. If it were only an IRC fight... ;)
fft fft
I'm not fighting, I just would like to know where he gets off insulting my restoration project in the works when I have never said anything bad about his POS 3.8L cougar. And what the hell does your garage have to do with it? I mentioned your lack of knowledge about restoring a car to begin with (not just a repaint, TOTAL restoration). If you did see one done, you would know that ALL cars that go through it look like spers at the beginning stages.
I don't throw insults out to ANYBODY (unless I receive one first), don't throw them my way. If you don't like my projects, keep your comments to yourself and don't reply in my threads that weren't directed to you. This thread was originally just to show Alex the work on the hood I am making. Not to get insults of my stripped cat.
Thanks and have a nice day.:flip:
Do you feel better now? :D
Yes, actually.:rollin: :giggle: :rollin:
And On a second thought. I wish to thank you Cougar SE. For a month or so now I have been contemplating sping my very first car, (the '85 Cougar) and dumping money into my '88 t-bird. But now thanks to that comment, I will not give up on this car and will see the project through to the end. Thanks again.
Boy, is Summit going to love me this month.:rollin:
I just think it is stupid that you cut up baxo's car for another car.
Claude, in all fairness, some people might think it was stupid to bother with all the trouble of putting a 5-speed in a 3.8L Cougar also. But I haven't heard anyone come out and attack you because of it. Why are you more defensive of Baxo's car than Baxo?
jkirchman for moderator..... jkirchman moderater...... he solves the problems
*claps*
my hi-jack is over now
really? obviously you are the type of person that talks out your ass, too. because if you have ever seen alex's car in person, you would know that it was rotted beyond repair. you can make a junker look like a show car in pics dude. just look at your sig for example. can see the dent in the quarter panel from that view can you? See how that trick works? you don't take pics that show the bad stuff, just the good. and no rust? DOUBT it. Let me see it in person.
and as jkirchman said, I do think it was stupid to swap ANYTHING into a 3.8L but if you will look back in your thread about the swap, you will not find a post from me. WHY? because if I don't like someones mods, out of respect for the board members, and the person thenselves, I simply don't reply to the thread.
do the board a favor.... Learn to do the same, and give some respect, as I have done for you.
I am sorry to the rest of the board, that some people can't keep there minds to themselves, and have to insult other peoples projects, because they don't like how they aquired the necessary parts for it's completion. SORRY ABOUT YOUR LUCK....(goes out side and takes sledge hammer to the 3.8L motor in Alex's '84 Cougar) Why? because it's my car, and I can :yuck: :flip: :rollin: .
Funny, Baxo says it wasn't that bad.
Oh and why I respond to your thread? Because I have an opinion and I'm gona voice it.
Don't like my tranny swap? Go ahead and tell me about it! why dont you read the thread and find out why I did it!
And if you ever looked in my garage you would see the 89 5.0 HO and every part to swap it into my car. You would also see my 73 nova that has been striped to the bone. And you say I don't know what a full restoration is? Not one bolt has been left unturned on that car. YOU don't know what a full restoration is!
And another thing, that is the bad side of my car. The reason you can't see it? Because I don't have big honkin ass pictures in my sig! Swift eyes will even catch the missing peice of trim. Oh and there is no rust, they don't salt the roads in this part of ohio. Only sand. Carfax says its been here all its life.
This is the end on my g contest with you.
HAHAHA thats too funnny!:rollin: you just proved your a hypocrit and are just pissed at me for using alex's cat for parts.. saying my car belongs ina s yard when you have one in the same boat! my car is just as stripped but I don't know about a full resotation. HAHAHA thats sweet.:giggle: ...:rollin:
Re-read my last post about WHY i din't reply about your tranny swap.
And also, I doubt alex has even been under that car ever. (NO offence alex, I just don't think even you have seen how bad it was. I will post pics of the rot soon)
END OF TOPIC
by the way salt helps rust but even cars that have never seen winter can and will rust. called moisture.
Me thinks it be about time to bring out this guy...
:locked:
Ibtl!!!!!!!!!!!:locked: :locked: :locked: :locked:
I was fully aware of how bad things were under there.. but that, just like anything else is repairable, also, repairing the underside of the car allows for more error as you don't have to do a perfect job to repair it. I admit that it wasn't the best cougar out there but it was still a car that probably woulda needed less overall body repairing then the 85. I personally think the easier task for you would be to take the underside of your car and weld it onto the 84 because aside from the underside the rest of the body is still pretty decent.
I guess i'm just being defensive becuase after all That was my first car that I bought when i was 17 from my own hard earned money and put more hard earned money into it to customize it.. do that paint job which was the first (and only time i've ever done a paint job for a car) it was my learning car and I had a lot of good memories with her.
But as i said before, its your car now.. you do what you need to do and if that means fully restoring the 85 then that's what you gotta do and i support that.
But both you and Claude.. no more g games about it.
