1986 Capri RS Black, 5.0, Auto, complete 91 interior (dash, plastics, etc) and drivetrain (all wiring converted as well, so it is mass air). 86 Halo seats, needs carpet, typical ashtray broken and console lid latch, otherwise clean. No rust on hatch or doors. Little rust on roof near hatch, and will need a patch on the drivers side floor in the typical spot. No rust on the rest of car. UPR offroad x pipe, Ford Racing stainless steel catback, has exhaust leak somewhere, I believe it is a header gasket. I have a set of used BBK shorties that go with, I may get around to swapping them in with new gaskets to eliminate leak. New radiator, starter, hoses (FRPP blue silicone), plugs, wires, brakes front and rear, including calipers, pads, hoses, shoes, etc. Has FRPP A/C and smog pump delete kits, Runs great, was a daily driver for the last 6 months, 60 miles a day.

Not exactly the Mark VII I was looking for but its still a fox body. I'm going to go look at it this week some time.

Cool! It's a rare thing to see around here. I haven't seen one anywhere except in a junkyard in the past few years.

Just found out that pulling the Cougar from the insurance and adding the Capri drops $200 for six months.

More rust than I want to fix. I let it sit over the winter and rust on the drivers side showed up like acne on a 12 year olds face.

Theres a hole the sizo of a half dollor through the door and its creeping out from under the bump strip on the rear quarters.

The car is going to a good home its not getting crushed. I contacted the kid that when to look at the car right after I did back in 2004. He said he still wanted the car so I made him a deal I would through it back together and sell it to him if he would drive it and not crush it.

He said he had $500 cash for a down payment on him right then and there.

Considering it says it has a 91 driveline I assume its an AOD if not it will be soon.

The other thing about the car that sparked my interest in it was the price he was asking with all the stuff hes done to it already.
He said he was putting stainless cat back FRPP exhaust on it last weekend also.

At the time I got my '89 Mark, if someone had shown me a Capri in similar condition to it for the same price, I may have gone with the Capri. (now, I probably favor the Mark slightly) I miss the two I had, and would love to have another someday.. just as long as they don't have the infamous "bubble-hatch". (83-85, I think)

This one has the bubble hatch. That will be the first thing to go.

Yup. Look at the pics it has the same rear quarters and quarter glass. So in all reality I could make this a Murcury Mustang.

AFAIK, all Capris from '83 to the end had that Euro-hatch.
My McLaren had it, and it was an '86.
Nice lookin' car, wish I'd kept mine...

The Capris had the cooler fenders though.  I love the way they flare out over the whole fender rather than just at the tire.

*Sigh* last year my friend and I discovered a once-beautiful RS (2.3 Turbo and, if memory serves it was only a 4-speed? Maybe a SROD?)  Anyway, it had the black with orange stripe and what not.  The kicker was, the ed thing even had T-tops.  T'was quite a shame that it ended up in the junkyard.

I have an 82 capri sitting at a buddy's house that is mine for when I can afford to start working on it. I need one of them full time jobs first though! Its a 4 cyl, 4 speed that has been parked since 1994 with a locked up motor. not a total loss, has potential.
Hope you have fun with yours!

Take the drive line from your Vic and put it in the Capri.

yah, i had an 80 RS with a 200 6, problem was it was previously in an accicdent (rolled and front end) but I didn't learn this till I started tearing it down after i bought it. It got pretty obvious when things didn't start lining up right. but the body went away on me too fast, the floor rotted right now, it was bad, I had to let her go, but an uncle of mine is still driving it as far as I know. leaking rusty thing that it is.

I sold the Crown Vic to get the Cougar on the road, it went to a friend of mine's girlfriend. They put some money and time into it and still driving it, runs great. I got $450 for it, enough to get my exhaust finished and transmission serviced with shift kit and title and registration for Cougar.
