Yesterday i put in a new flywheel and clutch set since the old clutch was slipping really badly. now the clutch grabs really well but I have a rattle and a vibration at about 85mph the rattle comes around at about 2500 rpms. any idea? :dunno:
change the pilot bushing?
Did you put the driveshaft back in the way it came out? If you didn't mark it try 180ing it on the yoke at the diff.
pilot bearing is only 10,000 miles old so I didnt mess with it but I did put some grease on it, drive shaft was marked
let off at 84 MPH?? lol
it is possible the grease pushed the bearing out.
I barely dabbed some from my finger I didnt fill the cavity full. I am thinking it might be the plastic throwout bearing they gave me or the shifter fork that is missing one of the clips. not really sure
well my rattle is now gone it was my breather cap sitting loose on the valve cover and the firewall :brick: vibration.... maybe it has been there all along :giggle:
plastic through out bearing...is that a hydrolic clutch thing?
I dunno what he means by that, mine sure wasn't plastic, it's all metal.
autozone sells the plastic ones, even for 5.0s.:dunno:
