Title: interior swap
Post by: Master_xzavior on February 12, 2006, 03:20:18 AM
ok I was looking at newer thunderbirds mid 90's to be exact. and looking at the inside they look alot nicer then our fox bodys. has anyone tried to put the interior out of one of these in our cars? I mean I know it would be alot of work but would it fit? after all they have cup holders bult in:D .

I dunno if the parts would interchange or not, I'd have to say that they wouldnt without a LOT of work...
You can put a Fox Mustang dash in '88 Birds though...I am soon as it warms up.
I know the seat brackets from an MN12 won't work in a Fox floorpan, but you may be able to mount the seats fox frames.
Far as the rest goes it'd take some work.

well the dash panel if its the same size dimensionally should be able to be made to fit as well as the center console. youd just have to drill holes if they didnt line up. what Im curious on is the door panels. are the doors the same dimension? anyone have say a 92 and an 87 who could measure and see?

the Mustang dash I'm referring to would be '87 to '93...
there was someone who did a sn95 (94 up stang) dash into a fox Tbird too...do a search, you can probably find the info here.
here's a link: http://www.foxtbirdcougarforums.com/showthread.php?t=4712&highlight=Mustang+dash+conversion
here's another good thread: http://www.foxtbirdcougarforums.com/showthread.php?t=5584&highlight=mustang+dash

I think 89 and up Tbird doors are longer, I'd have to go over to my other farm to measure my 89, it's in the shop there...
