Cool. I must admit that I really like those things. Especially with the Z26 package.
and the last ones
Wow, that's a lot fo clutter to clean up in the engine bay. :D It needs a stereo too (but I'm sure you knew that). I always thought that those were pretty nifty little cars as were the Cavaliers with that package. Or whatever Z package it came with. Is it quick?
The 3.1 is actually a pretty good motor. We had a Chebby Corsica with the 3.1. Problem was everything else about the car started to fall apart around the motor.
I don't what it is about them, but I really like the look of those cars. I wouldn't mind picking up a '96 myself.
hell, we are selling this one now....just dont have the time to replace the rod bearings right now
cant say ive ever seen pics of your tbird...
175K right now paul. We just did the lower intake and head gaskets, but the rod bearings need to be done, and the front cam seal. with work and all, we cant find the time to finish it.

oh...okay sweet. i noticed it in this thread...hadnt seen the latest in the other thread...i like it...
I found one of those Beretta's in the woods last weekend near the cottage. It wasn't a Z26 but it did have the 3.1 and a 5-speed. Seems some of the local yahoos were out joyriding the back roads and it broke down, so they beat the living daylights out of it. I was gonna help the neighbour haul it back for s, but somebody beat us to it.
Actually I know alot about those cars. Other than the intake gasket going those cars are very reliable. Evidentally I guess you didn't catch the intake gasket in time, so you have a bottom end noise, right? Well what I do know is if you want to get a couple of extra ponies, move the battery in the trunk and route the intake near the headlamp. These cars are breathing through a straw since their isnt much room.
In case you guys didn't know, those motors are equipped with a couple of goodies from the factory. They have beehive valve springs, roller cam and roller rockers. I like those Z26's, pretty cool car you have their.
James:)
not to bad....even for a chevy
Man you better tighten up that Belt!
LOL we had to take it off so we could turn the crank by hand...so I could get at the rod bearings.... I might have someone buying it as-is for 850, but I dont know if it will go through or not. If not, we will just put new bearings in and go with it ourselves... it just may take a while.
Check into it but being a 94 it probbly has the M engine code motor in it. I 94 that should belike 9.5 to 1. My buddy had a brand new 94 Bretta with the M engine and that thing would rip. Just need to mod the computer and the tranny comptuer to make it really quick.
Idont like the autos in these cars, but the mauals are a friggun blast. Of course, if we do keep it, it will get the turbo conversion fron a pontiac LOL
Fun as hell cars to drive. My freind has a 89 z28 convertable, if you want I can get some pictures of it.
On a side note, I'll bet that car is about as fast as a stock 5.0 (the 150hp ones). I played around with a inline four alot, and I could chirp 4th gear in it. Fun little cars.
Heres some more pictures for ya guys!
