Figured that would get your attention
I just realised I have never seen you car. Have you got it back together enough to show some pics.:D Ive seen pics of the roll cage and all but I would like to see the rest if its possible.
Well, aside from when I picked it up, it's been hiding in the garage and it's hard to get any good pics really. I'm hoping the next time it comes out of the garage will be under it's own power.
Here's a pic from when I picked it up from paint

and here's a pic after some reassembly.

When the weather behaves a bit I may get it out for a couple more pics, but aside from engine/MeqaSquirt/misc progress pics I don't have too much.
thats lookin good Chuck, I likes.
Sweet.........is that an air dam behind the door? did you do that yourself.....That just set off the car. Its a great looking car I know you must be proud.
I had the painter do it...He was mucking around with the car anyway and he's the pro.
Right now it's just "dead", but it will be used for something later, but it was best to do them now.
ooo.. i guess that the exaust will be coming out of em! that would be sweet...
man oh man does that car look just bad ass...
/me runs to a private place to contemplate chucks car...
Looks great so far man. What are you doing for powerplant? 2.3T or something wacky? I assume its a 5 speed as well?
Current powerplant is 2.3T/T-5
Next winter project is a 200 X-flow I6 turbo conversion/swap.
Ok, so this is the car getting the I6. I've heard it mentioned but was not sure what the I6 was going into. That will be pretty slick man. Are you still gonna run a T-5 behind the 6? So will this thing be able to eat up those puppiesanese I6 Turbos or what?
Chuck W that Tbird is sooooo cool:bowdown:
Dunno...it may just blow up in my face :hick:
It's going to still be the OHV (no OHC for me yet...out of the budget), but it's (the head) AL and a crossflow design (unlike the cast iron lump o' the US 200/250's got). This OZ head/intake will be mounted on a US 200 block.
The T-5 will be behind it. The late 200's got a different bell pattern that is 2/3 of the 5.0 pattern, so mating a 5.0 bell/flywheel to it will be pretty easy.
The car will be running Megasquirt already, but I may build a new ECU that's set up for EDIS instead of tearing apart the current one that's built for TFI. If I need to build a new engine harness I will, but most of the sensors should be in the same spots.
It will also get a new Kmember and engine bay paint at that time too...
Right now it's just getting it back on the road....
Chuck, are you going to use a tubular K-member or the stock Fox Mustang I-6 one?
Tubular.
I have one hanging on the wall in the garage, but I need to mod it to fit the I-6 mounts.
Well I stumbled across a "recent" pic from when I was working on the cage....
That paint is B-U-T-ful
Very nice work.
Keep us updated I like what I see! It will definately be the only one like it out there.
Well, at a glance it will look like an 83TC.....until it comes up and kicks you in the shin....
I should have at least tinted the rear window before I got the cage in.....to help with the camophlage. Now the only way it's getting tinted is if I pull it out of the car and then reinistall :nono: It's going to be enough of a PITA to clean the window now.....:giggle:
Yeah I tried tinting the rear window on my '88...had me in tears. The sides were a breeze but omg was that back glass a pain. I can't imagine having obstacles like roll cages blocking things. You would have to have the patience of a saint to get it done.
you can always pop out the rear glass and tint it, then just reinstall. i think that would probley be easier. i tried tinting the back window once... about 20 min later the roll of tint and accesories was twirling through the air into the street while i cursed at it lol...
Amazing car man. Such an awesome color I've always loved silver.
wow i like the look without the molding. ive been thinking shaving the moldings off my bumpers and off the fenders and doors but the paint is still a secret:evilgrin:
