Title: Hood Clearance ?

when running a stock 302 what would be the hood clearance from carb  to hood in 84 mercury cougar? i am curious to see how much room there is. would it be the same as the 3.8? and how much higher would the carb  be on stock 351?  I hope yall get what i mean with my question.  well im off to bed.

I get what you mean, but can't help ya sorry.  But am I able to foresee a supercharger in the future?

I'm pretty sure the 351W is 2" higher than the 302 where the intake meets the block

mk thank you. and since intake would be 2 inches higher where it meets the block on 351W vs 302 the 351W carb  would be 2 inches higher than 302 theoretically.  still does anyone know if the 3.8 CFI  would be roughly the same as 302 ?
