well its tax time in the good ol' USofA. Hopefully your getting a good return if you do what are you going to buy?
I need to pay some bills first which i'm sure everyone does but a guy needs to splurge too right?
i really can't decide what to get either a motorcycle (I've never really riden on before but i want one) or maybe a lil MG midget(dont know much bout these lil cars but i think they are neat) good thing bout the car is i'll be able to drive around with my 3year old not so easy with the bike
parts for my TC. just about everything in my "don't you just hate" thread.
its all going to payoff my 60" grand wega
ugh...i told the wife she could do what she wanted with it....
fiberglass gfx
Well, we have an apartment debt to get out of. An oil tank for the furnace to fill up, I think im finally gonna get my chip for the dakota, maybe a couple 360 games. Also, possibly trading in pegs coug for something a little newer.
tweecer R/t and a laptop to go with it .
Propane for the house (heat)
new furniture
pay off some bills
new computer & desk chair
I found a Cougar on E-bay last night that I want, but.... I don't have the 18 grand for it..... I could cry!!!!
I have found the best thing to do is too catch up on bills, then get ahead on bills, buy a few bonds or bank certificates, and let the rest sit for a month, see where things are at, then reward yourself with a new toy. I don't get very much back on taxes because I have it set up to not take much more than what I expect to owe but my reward is going to be a new ac system for my t-bird. It will hopefully be the first year in my life to have ac for one whole summer. I am buying all new parts so as long as I put it together right It should be good for a while.
I'm hoping to be able to pay off half my stereo debt... hopefully:yuck:
Getting a new wedding ring. ( I lost mine this fall while painting the house. I think I set it on the truck before I went for a timmies)
After that, I don't know. I usually get a decent return, since I pay $40 extra taxes on every paycheque. I highly recommend this, since you never miss the $40, but a grand or two at tax time always comes in handy. Just tell your company accountant, and they'll set it up for you.
Hopefully pay my dad off the 1200 i owe him.
Well since I make the least out of any of you probably. Since Im 17. New Exhaust for the Black Coug. The rest is for college.
New shocks and fix the A/C in the Thunderbird.
Stinger FMIC, header panel, h2o/meth injection.
Hopefully a 5-lug swap. I really have no clue how much I'm getting back though.
I always manage to get raped at tax time, even though i pay out the ass, 25-35% of each paycheck... So after i pay up even more, the government will probley buy some bullets to kill terrorists with.
better off just putting the money in a bank accout or other intrest account of some sort. why let the government make the interest off fo your money....
Cause its too easy to spend it when you have access to it, I know I cant do it
Hopefully a laptop. but that is after taking the wife to the dentist. Then put the rest in a CD.
Not sure im already buying rims so i have a good chunk left i might just do a couple things tint windows fix paint and then start saving for some BIG projects of mine.
New Tires for the Car, Orioles Season Tickets. and credit card bills.
O Didnt See This But Check Out My New Venture Thread Thats Where My Mony Is Going
For the Mustang:
That, and you don't have to think about putting $40 away every two weeks. You forget about it until tax time.
I think it'll all end up in the gas tank. All 120 of it. Woohoo, I can drive around for another few weeks.
Well I was planning on rebuilding the motor in the Cougar along with the transmission but since I'm forced to file as "dependent", I'll probably have enough to cover my hotel room and gas for carlisle and cat jam. :disappoin
if you make enough to file you make more than me. i have just worked for my dad my whole life to this point so i dont file at all so i dont get a return. hopefully this will be the last year of having not made any real money.
Taxes ? Money ? mmm.....
I'm going to pay off my girlfriend's engagment ring, getting a T-5 for the t-bird and a 351w.:D
not trying to bust balls here but you should think about opening an IRA OR if your work has a 401k put your extra money there i understand the extra money at tax time but you should also start planning for when you get older (saying this as a 30 year old guy)
then you have money that is working for you (intrest on stocks) and most accounts dont charge a big fee for maintenance
just a thought for you younger guys dont want to sound like your mom or dad :nono: but there wont be any money left in social security for you guys there may not be any for me and i really wish i started when i was younger
OR
open an account at your bank that needs 2 sigs to get money(your parents ,friend, spouse) that way you have to realy think about getting money out of it
OR
if you really want you can send my the extra money you have and ill put it to good use for you :D
disclaimer: I am not a financail planner in real life i just play one on TV
No worries. I put my trick out there as advice, I should expect the same in return. :)
We have a saving account. It's useless, because you have to conciously go through the effort of putting the money away, and force yourself not to use it on double mortgage months. ;)
I do have plans of investing, I guess it's just a matter of getting to it. College isn't getting any cheaper, and with plans for four kids, I imagine I'll need to get to it sooner than later.
ugh. don't make enough to save right now, just barely getting by.
paying off one CC, (the rest we have a lower interest loan we are paying on)
pay off wifes semester for school
go on a steak dinner date with the wife
buy a couple small things (L5R cards, some cloths for the wife)
the rest goes into savings to pay bills for a few months.
The $440 I'm getting back will go towards the $2200 we need for vacation this year.
one of the cylinders might be dead on my mustang lol, so Ill be putting some away and using some of it to help fix the car so I can drive it finally.
Last year it painted the Tbird..this year it's paying for the Recaros I got for the Tbird off of the 'bay, paying off a bill and putting a new floor down in the kitchen.
I owe 1900 this year, so i looks like im going to buy
Nada
Ziltch
zip
and Nada 2 (I hate that commercial)
Just got a letter from the Govt. Apparently a contracting company I worked for, for about six months, ****ed up my income taxes, and now I owe $1400 from some shiznit I did in 2002.
:bs:
Kinda just sitting on it until a car comes along that grabs my attention. I'm looking for a Fox body with no rust and a good drive line and a V8.
And on top of the $6000 I got back I sold the Cougar and am selling my Tempo to buy another Fox Body. I realy want another Mark VII but can't find one in central IL that runs and is less that $1500. Anybody know of one in driving distance from me.
Did someone say Cat Jam? ;) Missing two years in a row is punishable by death.
Everyone better hang on to some refund money for Ohio!
Based on how much I make, I'll probably go out to eat at Wendy's.
By myself.
String me up then because I'm not going to be able to make it this year either. I have a family reunion at the same time and haven't seen some of them for five years so I am opting to go to that instead.
But you'll get it biggie-sized so that should make it worthwhile. :D
I'll sell you my 87 for 5 grand, but you gotta promise to bring her to CJ06! :D
It hasn't been a very good year, Jim, don't go crazy.
lol....
hey...the wifes gonna let me get my impacted wisdom teeth extracted...woohoo....!:barf:
