if I bought a 77 bird :D pics and info to come....
um no:)
you mean a boat like this?
:idhitit:
.
Only if it has a big block.
I almost bought what I remember to be a 76 XR-7. It was mint green 1/2 Vinyl Roof and vice grips for the automatic shifter. Needed some serious work but it has a nice sounding 351-C. Wonder what happened to it ?
Anyway can't wait for the pics.
Disowned? Not at all. My uncle had a black '78. For some reason, I think they're really cool. There's a white one for sale not too far from me that looks to be in really good shape. I haven't stopped to look at it seeing as I don't have room for any more cars. If I did and liked it enough with the right price, I'd have to buy it.
For real? Thats the actual car?
Theres a white one near me for sale and its in miserable condition. The rust along the quarter panels is so bad that you could basically just lift the roof off. Rust holes and bondo everywhere - and the guy still wants $3000 for it!
lol thats not the actual car but i think you know what I meant :)
Wasn't stock, was it?
I'm pretty suWre they stopped making 351C's in '74.
I couldn't believe this car only went for $900!! How could you not love a black bird w/ 56,000 miles for that price...Someone got a great deal.....

A 77 can't have a big block. The only Tbirds with big blocks were 61-63s with 390 FEs, 64-67 with 390FEs standard and 428 FEs optional, 68-71 with 385 serrires 429s, and 72-76 with 385 serries 460s. 77-79 Tbirds came with a 302, 351W, 351M, or a 400M.
I will have a 1970-1971 2 door Thunderbird one day:D
I never said it had to be stock.:D
Last time I checked, I thought a 351M/400 WAS a big block...
at least, everybody I know considers it a bb...
hell, Id own a 77 Tbird....did own a 76 Ranchero GT with 460...
the only thing big block about a 351m/400 was the bellhousing pattern.
Fine modify it :raspberry A 77 Tbird with a 460 would make a hell of a sleeper.
big block, small block - whats all this talk about chevy motors?
A friend of mine has a '77 Cougar (aka the Pimpmobile) with a 302. Great fun car, but people on bikes are quicker than that thing :) Its a wonderful cruiser though.
You don't have to go fast in a Pimpmobile. You travel in style;)
I wouldn't disown you.
I might put you in a bag and take you out into the country and dump you somewhere. I guess if you found your way back, then I guess we'd have to let you stay.
The 77-79's aren't my thing, though.
I'd be more inclined along the lines of an 75-76 XR-7....
*crickets chirping*
Wow guys....it was just a joke......
We know that not much is your thing, Chuck. :p You're the only one here more curmudgeonly about things than I am. :p
(that's also a joke.. heh)
Yeah well Sid Vicious died in 1979 so there! :raspberry
I forgot to say its a car in a barn with a 351W :D
more
last ones for now.
Cool! The interior is the same as my uncles was.
Here's hoping that mice haven't eaten through all the wiring.
I've got some wiring issues in my Fairlane thanks to those things.
Get ready to break out the pressure washer!
have to wait 2 weeks to find out what they are asking for it. from the pics what would you say its worth? I have my idea whats yours? still unsure if she runs so make two prices running and not running. thanks
Well, my uncle let his go to a junkyard for $25 and it ran (just blew smoke like nobodys business).
Still can't get over that.
I'd say the ball is in your court. They should go for you're price given the condition "as is" and the work it needs to get running again.
Depends on how long it's been sitting too. Too many variables for me to put a price on. Especially not seeing it in person.
I'd say between $50 and $300. :dunno:
I'm totally pulling these out of my arse -
non running - I'd drag it away for $250, and still be seriously considering it at $350
running - ... I cant imagine it would run well. It would probably leak all over the place. $600 maybe, if it runs good. I mean it looks like its been sitting for decades.
from the sticker on the tag its been sitting since 2000. the engine will turn but I am positive it will need a tune up and fluid changes I'm thinking $300-$500 as is but I think I should wait and see what they want for it.
If theres no rust in the floors and you can get it started i'd toss 'em $500 easy, but I love beasty birds :D
Cars in barns are cool.....
Should have lots of residents thought too.
If anything I think I should get disowned, I've derbied a few of them in my day. Held up quite nicely though.
Well the guy said it was stock, but I dont think he could tell his head from his arse. He picked it up from a friend, he was intending to restore it, but guy was not too handy with a wrench. Looked stock though from what I remember. It was about 6- 7 years ago now, Sad to say its probably junked by now :(
hate to say it but I have too... car was already built when I got it otherwise it wouldnt of been derbied and I swear on my life this one will never end up that way.. I took about 7th in the finals :D
Those cars are bullet proof! I wouldn't own one, but they are good cars!
I had a 1977 Thunderbird, 351 windsor, tach and guages, 60/40 power split bench, 9'' rear with sway bar and traded it for a speaker box and amp 8 years ago when the front seal on the gear box blew out. OOPS!
ouch.... but you know how easy those boxes are to change?
