Well, Progressive came through for me, and I ended up with around $2000 total, which I promptly spent on a 1996 Pontiac Grand Prix sedan SE. It's cop-magnet red, and it has the V6 3.1 engine, 100.000 miles on the odometer. From what I've heard about them, these engines are pretty durable, so I'm hoping that the car will last me some, providing of course there are no more traffic incidents. If anyone's had any experience with them, feel free to comment, I'd appreciate some opinions. I'll post some pics tomorrow, the bodywork is in decent condition with the exception of a dent in the hood.
dont beat on that tranny ;)
Not on the Grand Prix but the Grand Am is a moving pile of junk. Though I have to admit, the 3.1 ran without issues until I got rid of it. Everything else is a different story.
pictures as promised !
engine should last.... other than that I don't care for those years of those cars, now, the new gtps are a differrent story...
does that car have the 2nd gear start button on the lower part of the dash? I always thought that was the weirdest feature.
OOOOOO red:D
I second watching the tranny, also check the tie rods and ball joints. Otherwise it will run forever.
Oh yeah, good luck gettin at the rear 3 plugs :yuck:
My good friend has a blue grand prix and he beats the hell outta it. Absolutely nothing in the car opperates anymore besides the speedometer. So even with all the beating you know well he doesn't take care of the engine. And he has 150k on it. So you must be right about the durability part. Hell I horse around on the cougar for 1 night and the next time i run her she gives me fits.
