Is it possible to use RCA splitters off of my head unit's preamp outputs to go to a 4 channel amp? Basically, the HU I'm going to use only has one set of preamp outputs, and the 4 ch. amp I want to use requires 4 RCA plus in order to use all 4 channels. The preamp voltage is 2.0v. Will splitting them reduce the voltage or should I be ok? Thanks for any help!
I would split it at the amp rather than running two sets of rca's. Or if your amp has an output, loop that to the input of the other channel. That would be the best option. If you still have your factory EQ, you use that to split the channels for you and gain an EQ out of the deal. Oh, and this belongs on the audio board, fyi.
i had to split them in my truck to make it work and im happy with how it sounds. I agree with amooset put the splitter at the amp side. i makes less wiring that has to be run.
