my brother thinks his 75 murcury marquis with a rebuilt 400, rv cam, edlebroc hi flow intake, and a 650cfm performer carb will beat my stock 84 thunderbird. his has a stock c6 auto and a 2.75:1 (i think)rear and mine is an aod auto and i dont know the rear ratio. b4 i bet anything on this race i want to know what you guyes think the matchup will be and if you have any ideas for getting my car to move faster i would like to know them too.
:edit: i would also like to know what inexpencive things i could do to make it beat him

I think the 400 would take ya. You probably have 3:08 in the bird, not enough gear to beat the 400, but it would be fun to see. You do have a little weight advantage.

my bets on your brother.  dont bet too much he will beat you.  my reason...  had a stock 400 in my 79 XR7 with 273 gears and there werent many people that could keep up.  400 has since blown to many pieces but I have another one to go in.

we actualy refer to it as the aircraft carryer due to the green color but barge is a good one too.
