Would anybody happen to have a fox t-bird converted to carb, specifically an Edelbrock 600 cfm carb. If so i was wondering if anyone would be able to post photos of the linkage set up they used, even a bit of advise would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
what engine are you building? cuz 600 cfm is a bit of over kill. 500 for a 5.0 i belive is good but don't hold me to that. ive herd 450 is good but again not too positive.
Its a 302, the engine and carb have been together now for about 3 yrs running some great times in a 79 capri,it works great. The only problem now is that that car got nailed at the mall so now i am putting the motor in an 87 t-bird. Its a 320-340 hp carbed engine.
what are the mods on the motor if any?
what linkage are you looking for. Is it a automatic or manual. In my car i had a throttle linkage from a early model mustang. Not sure on the exact vehicle its from.
The mods are as such... 302 bored .030 over - 9 3/4 compression, 600cfm Edelbrock carb, performer rpm intake, 1970 351 heads that are gasket matched and ported etc, machined out for 1.90/1.54 intake/exhaust valves (saving for some ARP heads). Scat 'I' beam rods, keith black pistons and ARP bolts throughout. The cam is in a little under the .500 lift area, it is a little tame for the rest of the engine but it is a lot more drivable this way as well it was built with durability in mind more than anything. In the 79 Capri the engine used to be in the car would run around the 13.6-8 area with a C4 auto. Regarding the linkage... i was wondering if the stock throttle cable will be usable in anyway for a carb set up mainly the Edelbrock ? again thanks in advance
I have all the parts to convert my t-bird to carb, but haven't begun the process yet. I went with a Lokar cable setup, both throttle and transmission kickdown.
any 2 or 4 brl ford product from about 1969-85 will work. use the bracket off the intake also.
the capri throttle cable and bracket will work just fine.
