Post by: 84t-bird on January 06, 2006, 11:20:29 PM
im new to the board. i recently recived an 84 thunderbird for the small price of getting the door to the garrage it was in open.:D  the car has no compression but that doesnt scare me due to i have rebuilt engines b4 and am currently going to school to get a degree in automotive service. i have been driving a 1977 ford truck since i was 17 which was about 2.5 years ago and have almost completely rebuilt it. i am a huge ford fanatic. i love working on old fords and i love driving them even more. i hope to learn as much as i can about this car from you all and i hope to be able to help you when there is a question i know the answer to.

I doubt a 300 would fit under the hood anyway.

I guess you missed our (well, my) whole big thread on it, then:

A buddy of mine had a '79 Mustang with a 300 in it, and it fit with no problems. The car was originally a 250, but he stuffed that 300 in using the stock I6 crossmember. I don't know what he did about the oil pan or mounts though. The car looked absolutely foolish with its Capri hood (stuck out about 2" past the grille) and baby blue paint, but you could not kill that engine.

I wouldn't say corner. I would say we are in the basp00get. Look around at how many LS1, LT1, Camaro, and Mustang Forums there are.

And Welcome to our dark place in the basp00get.:D
