What exactly is emissions testing? How often do you have to pass? Here in northern Manitoba we have NO emissions testing or vehical inspections, so I'm clueless to what all you americans are talking about when it comes to fooling emissions testing.
here in ontario you have to get it done every 2 years i think its like $50 if you pass or dont pass ...... but you only need to get safety when the vehical is bought or sold ... unless its a truck with farm plates then you dont need ether

They just started here last year.. this was the first i took thru. has to be done every year at renwal time. Next in line is my wifes car...:yuck: more converters to install:mad:
Hmmm....I wonder how long it'll take the emissions to get here in Sevierville, TN. When i loved in ohio back in the day i hated emissions. but every bird i got passed w/ flying colors.
The only reason why hamilton and davidson counties have it is because they voted down the wheel tax proposal. :flame: They will get the $$ out of you somehow.
we will never have it in michigan as long as the big 3 are still around, so we should be getting it in the near future... hehe

Emissions sucks. Maryland's program is a load of BS. As quoted from their site...
They are not worried about cleaning the air. It's all a money making scheme. My car has failed and failed time after time again. As long as they get their $15 per test, they don't care. If they were really concerned with improving air and water conditions, my car as well as half of the other cars on MD's roads would not be allowed to be titled until they were emissions compliant. The treadmill test is a joke and their equipment is always inaccurate.
I just wish I could just give MD a check to payoff my emissions debt and not even bother to take my car in.
My motor began knocking on the way home from one of my tests and guess what, MD can't be held at fault.
