Title: Newbie Here...
Post by: NeonArena on January 02, 2006, 06:55:10 AM
So, hello everyone.

I don't own a Mercury Cougar, but my ex-boyfriend did. And let me tell you, we had some fun times in that car.

(which was a 1993 XR-7 Black Mercury Cougar)

and just last month, we totally went at it in the back seat... Um *attention?* LOL.

well yeah, I just had to share that... now I can never pass one of them with out sighing a little. he really knew how to make that cat purr... Uh... the car, thats what im talking about.

I'm believe the passenger seat is more comfortable, it lays down almost flat and has a can slide far back for plenty of leg room...

That's why they made the MN12 cars longer.  More rear seat comfort.

I dunno about that, the rear seat in my '80 is huge with the front bench seat slid foreward... the '82 has an arm rest in the middle though:yuck:

, I'm really disappointed in you guys. Where is your spirit of adventure?

Hi there, NeonArena. Welcome to the board. My Cougar has a retractable roof and a snug back seat. If you're ever in Ohio...

*Dammit. Nevermind, I suck at picking up women.*

actually, my backseat is a trash can... I don't believe it's been used by anyone for the past 5 months...  i got a gas can, a door panel, a bag of tools... and other misc parts stored back there... plus whatever was in the passenger seat when it came time to have someone else dare to ride with me!

lol...

Well, I am in Michigan, but... i'm probably too young for you. (I'm almost 21)

but that aside...

I have a question for you gearheads... when driving, what makes that revving noise? he used to say it was the airconditioning... after I told him to keep going faster. (he would go 120 on the highway only when I was in the car, because he knew what that did to me)

anything?

I think the thing that makes the revving noise when you drive is called the motor.  :p

Well yeah, of course... I knew that. I was only trying to figure out if what he said was true or not. Evidently... its not.

So apparently i've painted quite the picture of myself on here...

p.s.: I'm not just a "chick", and I graduated college.

First thing that comes to mind is an electric fan kicking on and off, did the 93's have electric fans??

NeonArena are you looking for/planning on buying a cougar (or a thunderbird ;) ) at some point? Girls seem to love these cars but never want to own one for some reason

Unless it's an MN-12.. I see mostly women behind the wheels of MN-12s down here, and mostly older guys behind the wheels of the bigger Fox bodies.

Well, where I am in life doesnt really allow me much room to afford a car right now... (student loans, unemployment, ...etc etc) but as a side note, the sedans are sweet cars.

and in response to the question, when he accelerated... was when it was most noticable.

That was actually the first thing that came to mind.  But she said it was a '93 Cougar.

Did it sound like a low kind of growling sound or more of a high pitched whine?
