Happy new year!
I have a '87 cougar XR-7 with the non-HO 5.0 I am coverting to '89 GT HO and mass air. Maybe it is on this web site and I am not seeing it but where do you splice the mass air meters wires to the ECU? any help or direction to a web site would be very much appreciated. Thanks!
This should help some.

Hi,
Okay, I am keeping the cougar wiring harness in the car, but I have the '89 GT's engine harness out of the car. To wire in the mass air meter in the cougar would it work if I just follow the wires in the mustang harness and just put them in the same place in the cougar? I know this can't be that complicated but I haven't done this before. What pin location do I splice the wires in? thanks.
okay I think I'm getting this figured out! gheesh
id leave the cougars harness alone and in the car, than strip the (4 wires i think) for the MAF harnee out of the stangs and run those parralell into the computer. i havnt done the maf swap yet so i cant get any more spacific than that. i do need too get that done though.....good luck man
hi
I just got the thermactor wires switched around without trouble and have run the MAF wires through the firewall and to the computer. I am now at the point of getting ready to put them in. I have noticed that on the ECU connector pin#9 is empty for the MAF RTN wire and so is pin#50 for the MAF SIG. But the power wire that goes to pin#37 has a wire there already and so does the ground pin# 40. Do I just cut and splice into those wires since it is just ground and power? I don't want fire works! :D
Yes, you have to splice into them. Best bet is to remove the computer and solder in the wire to make sure you have a good conection.
