Title: Saw a car burn to the ground
Post by: amooset on December 29, 2005, 06:32:27 AM
I was on my way to work tonight and when I got in the parking lot, there's a kia sedonna minivan with 20 foot flames shooting out of it.  :flame: A cop hit his lights on behind me on my way there and I thought I was getting a ticket, guess not!  The glass was all melted, the tires melted, nothing left of the interior but the steering wheel and seat frames.  The only thing I was thinking about was how I'd be bawling like a baby if it had been my car :giggle: .

I didn't see the car burn, but I did see that aftermath of an '87 Tbird burn to the ground. Gave me chills, because the car resembled my Cougar WAY too much.

A couple years ago I was going to work on the highway and saw a big column of smoke rising over the hills not too far ahead. Didn't know what it was but I soon found out- on the other side of the highway there was a car burning like crazy, completely engulfed in flames. First time I've ever seen a car actually burning!

Also, once while at work I went to burger king on my lunch break and there was a PT cruiser in the parking lot there that had suffered from an engine fire....at the time this was only about a month or two after they had gone on sale.

Yeah awhile back in my old nieghbor hood i watched a nieghbors garage burn......with his Mn12 tbird in it, i laughed. He was a total dick and was also knowen through out the community as a drug dealer. What made it even better he had just had an assload of work done to it 20 inch assassins a 5 grand system HA. Not to mention the shadow that it burned and a pos old dodge truck that his dad owned, i guess there is such a thing as Karma.

I actually saw a ~'92 Mustang catch on fire. I was leaving college and was in line at a traffic light to leave the parking lot. I heard him first and then saw him. An immaculate and I mean immaculate black Mustang GT went by infront of me and obviously had some motor and exhaust work done. The light went green, and I headed down the road and when I looked up ahead, I saw black smoke. I watched the guy stop the car on the median and jump out. He threw the hood open and flames shot a good 5 to 10 feet out from the engine bay. He then ran away from the car and got on his cell phone. It was both an interesting and sad thing to see.

I know two people who's cars caught on fire unintentionally, both taurus' and both just the engine bay, didnt get into the interior although heat did a pretty dood number on its own. Now for cars intentionally set on fire 83 capri, 87 firebird, and some 80's honda

I burned my '84 Cougar to the ground about a week or so before it was scheduled to be hauled off to the junkyard.  My friend and I tried to give it a targa roof with a blow torch.  I guess I shouldn't have left the headliner and carpet in it.  Thank God I'd taken the gas tank off already.  Even blew up my original sunroof glass that I'd planned on ebaying, it.
