Title: Front Seatbelt '88 TBird
Post by: JKATHRE on December 26, 2005, 10:33:08 PM
Hello

The Mrs. tells me that the drivers seatbelt clasp doesn't hold.  I try the belt and she is right.  You can apply a force enough to pull the belt out of the clasp!!--the push button on the clasp seems collapsed and weak.  I guess everything has an engineered life?  Anyway, thanks to another thread here I pulled out the seat to see what I have to do.  I will need another L shaped belt/clasp and will try to fit that into the colored plastic holder matching the interior.  I hope I can find one of these belt clasps.  Is it a waste of time to retail this, i.e. a Ford dealer or parts warehouse----or do I head straight for the bone yard (not so pleasant to rip out a seat in weather outdoors at a salvage yard)?  At least I know I can now loosen the seat bolts/nuts and tilt it to access the belt and not hopefully have to remove it again.
