Just got this on the road. Now to make it pretty and unique. I've been thinking of calling it SS for "simply stock", or BS for "bone stock", or one that fits the car as well as me "Grey Fox". What do Y'all think?
SS sounds too much like a Chevelle, Nova or Camaro. BS sounds like you hate it. I always end up making stupid names for mine. For instance Killer B cuz its yellow. Black Betty cuz its black.
Kitty
The grey cat .

I figure a car should earn its name, not be given one. The 1980 got named 'the beast' 'cause shes quite rough around the edges, the first sprint was called the 'ghetto cruiser' 'redneck ricer' then finally just 'sprunt' since it was decided that 'sprunt is an acceptable past tense to sprint and the car was finished lol. The new sprint has ben dubbed 'the silver bullet'. The 1982 has only been driven for 4 days since i've owned it so it is currently nameless but it wil come in time. Just listen to what people say about it and what kinda 'vibe' it gives off something will hit you eventually... thats just my thoughts:D
Well my car has been dubbed "The Sled" mainley because its so slow. But I got 12k miles out of it before any major repair, and that only cost 250 bucks.
That is a nice Cougar. I'm betting over time a name will come to you, tbirdscott is right a name is earned. I do however think it will include "silver" or "ghost" or both?
I've commonly referred to mine as Tank, since on several seperate occasions my passengers have said "This car is huge, it's like riding in a tank."
I'm still trying to get where people think our cars are huge :dunno: the 70's birds were much bigger
This poor old car has been abused by okies for almost 20 years. It's a miracle it even has four wheel covers, and you are disparaging the ones it has??? Just kidding
See if I have been doing my homework.
SN95 axles + Ranger drums + new 5 lug rotors + new tires = these. The reason I like these is that they are already mine.
In the meantime, how's this? Painted wheels. I may just leave the covers off and have my nuts chromed.
i have the drinkin contintal cuz its my friday nite cruiser and i may have one or two drinks and the fake spare tire in the back and the 88 is called the $#!+box cuz thats what it is and the dog poops by it
your car should be the grey goose ???? maybe
edit: wire hub caps rule i haveem too
How about "old man" or "grandpa"?:D
James
those have a fwd ford bolt pattern 5/4.25 they will not work with any 5 lug setup that will work under your car.
Those wheels in the first pic won't fit because the bolt spacing is differn't on a mn12 than it is on a fox.
Second pic. For gods sake put those wire wheel covers back on. Your car has to look totally trashy without them.
*edit, you beat me by a second man! The times are the same on our posts!*
Thanks for setting me straight before I spent any money on that. I am learning why all my shade tree friends are chevy guys. Not that GM's are any better, just more familiar.
Sounds painful, but it should impress the ladies. :tg:
I think giving something a nick-name, just to give it a nick-name is cheezy...but that's just me.
Everyone calls mine "The Bad ass Bird" or "BaB" I refer to it as "The '85"
First naval rings, nose rings, eyebrow rings, nipple rings... Now chrome nuts??? NO way!!! :D :flip: :rollin:
Next thing ya know it will be platinum or gold.
As for the cars name it will come to ya. I think it should be one its earned tho. Like mine for example, it was called Junkyard Bird or J-Yard-Bird because it was gonna go to the yard until I bought it for $150, ironic thing is went 2yrs. later anyways.
Disparaging??? Me?? Not at all my friend. Look closely at the pic in my signature. :D
I call mine the old w. She'll do what ever I want.....as long as I throw some money at her;)
lol at times i call my bird the Brown bomber, or the blunderchicken...(very freq. cause i just blew a VC gasket.... ) i call mine the bird plain and simple.........
lol dude call your cat Radar........Thats my gf's cats name
In my experiance NEVER name a car, or grow fond of it! Next thing you know it's wrapped around a tree and being stripped of parts. My first car, a gold taurus named Susan died like that, and then i had Cathy which i ditched and tore the tranny out... then my favorite, katie, who was the fastest w on the planet...

Well personally I call mine DA BIRD. Thats the name it had from my friend that gave me the car. I must say the best names are the ones that are earned. Kinda like Damm DA Bird flies.
I just call mine the cat, or her / she depending in which pretense im speaking in.
