Ok, so it's not quite a Coupe, but it is a Turbo, and is even a Ford, sorta kinda (since Ford owns Volvo):
2000 Volvo V70 XC SE AWD wagon. Five cylinder turbo, 190HP, fully loaded (heated leather, power moonroof, dual zone climate control, etc). Just bought it today. It's not the '99 V70R that I had considered earlier this week, but I'm more than happy with it. The R had been sold, but it was a year older, more mileage, and more money, so I ended up ahead anyway. Plus, this one has a one year unlimited mileage warranty on the powertrain and electrical system - the R was a "Curb & Gutter" car.
The XC, apparently, is Volvo's answer to the SUV question before they had a real SUV. It's got an extra inch of ground clearance, roof racks and fog lights (and maybe some other stuff, I dunno). So I guess Eric's Mountaneer is an SUV that thinks it's a luxury car, while my new brick is a luxury car that thinks it's an SUV :hick:
A quick nighttime pic (better pics will surely follow tomorrow) - it's covered in salt already but you get the idea:
 Nice!
i realy wanted one of those at one point...never pulled the trigger on one though....great car...
Cool,
congrats and good luck with it.:)
Wasn't the R a 5 speed though?
No, the one I was considering was an automatic. I'd have killed for a 5-speed, but given the fact that 5-speeds were only available in either the base non-turbo model (wasn't even considering a non-turbo) or the R, and given that R models are very rare (especially AWD wagon versions) I'd have had to wait years to get one and I wasn't prepared to drive that Dakota for years...
Sorry for not posting new pics today - I drove 300 miles and I'm on dialup here, which is not uploading-friendly...
Very cool man. I'm glad everything worked out for the better. It's a cool car. I didn't know Ford owned Volvo though.
