Well our tracks are closed for a few months in the winter, so I have another hobby to feed that competetive need. It's called Warhammer 40K and it's a wargame, think Starcraft, only with models. Anyways, I went to a tournament today and I won! I drilled them into the floor! We played 3 rounds, and out of 100 possible victory points, I scored 106:D I actually annihilated the first guy completely, he didn't have anybody left! I was so unstopable my opponents actually got NEGATIVE points! :flip: Now I'm pumped to play for points next year!
I had a roommate in the 'Corps who was into that stuff.....friggin' dorks. At least you are a good dork :-)
Naw, I use an evil army. I've been playing for 7 years, so it kinda pre-dates my TCs. I'd rather race HO Scale slot cars (T-Jets anyone?) but the nearest track is a 4 hour drive! Besides, it's fun to mop the floor with people in real life. It's so much more fun then on the computer!
My bro in law is into Warhammer. It's amazing how many gaming things I know just by knowing him....
So what army do you play, I am guessing Chaos by the evil comment? I play Space Marines... just like everybody else. Haven't touched my army in months, been too busy with work and school. Still have a vindicator to finish building and painting. Grats on the win, that's a badass trophy.
Congrats on the multiple killings....
These were Tough Ones, but are mostly worn out T-Js now...

Not Thunder Jets, but HO's are my favorites... It's just a small set but I'm glad to have it, would have been nice if the cars were '87s...

Hehehehe...TurboCoupe50, they made 87 TC slot cars in HO Scale...I have about 55 different ones and quite a few extras to repaint like real TCs.
Dakota, I play with Dark Eldar, the "no longer supported army". My opponents were World Eaters Chaos, Black Templar, and White Scars Space Marines. I have a Templar army too, but I like using the DE, I've yet to lose a game with them...
Wow, I always thought that the DE had some of the coolest special characters. The freaking Talos (scorpion thing right? It's been a while.) is mean too. There is a guy at the local gamestore that I game at and he "plays" DE, but he just expects to win every time, and gets terribly angry when you beat him. I dominated him in one game, and he actually threw a pewter Warp Beast at me. He's switched over to a game called Flames of War now, and is doing much better at that. Lol.
:flame:
Dorks.
About a week ago I was at a stop light on 41. Some guy noticed my ohio tag and was talking to me out of his car. He said he had been from ohio, He said he was moving back because no one played dungeons and dragons in florida. I was like Err, I dont either. And then I proceded to drive off hoping to never hear from him again.
Im partial to Rise of nations and age of mythology. whats War hammer like , another RTS i take it?i might have to check it out.
Ill stick with the ps2 and getting stomped at halo 2
Not sure I'd go so far as to call you a dork :p....you just play the games, so I think I have you trumped... (check the website in my profile....)
I never got much into the fantasy wargames though. I think it has to do with me not being the "collectable" type, and that's what alot of the fantasy wargames are....buying and collecting figures...I was more interested in the table-top "reality" ones (I was glad when Operational Art of War came out fo PCs a few years back).
excuse my ignorance, and spelling lol, but what is this warhammer game? sounds interesting if its stradigy based. i love all thos games and if it has anything to do with building models to, i think im gonna have to pick up a new hobbie
Hmmm, think I still have that TOAW bundle around here somewhere.. it, now I'm gonna have to dig it up, since you mentioned it. :p
EDIT: If I recall, Warhammer was a table-top/miniatures wargame. Wouldn't know it at all except for the fact that I think I was still messing around with the table-top Battletech/Mechwarrior stuff around when that came out. Haven't messed with that stuff in well over a decade, though. Easier to just game on a PC, or two, or more.. heh.
Well, here some pics of my all-conquering army. Fore those of you interested, or intrigued enough, visit http://www.games-workshop.com and click "Warhammer 40000". It's the largest non R/C hobby in the world, aka alot of dorks that know how to kick your ass.
And a pic of my 87/88 TC slot car collection:D
Yeah it is a tabletop strategy game that involves building and painting the figures then using them for the game. There is Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War, which is a computer game. It is rather good, and mimics the real game almost perfectly, in model and options.
You sank my battle ship!
Err um,, n/m
So Warhammer is like the better, more fun version of Mage Knight? I started to get into those games, then lost interest once I got my car. <---- No explanation needed.:D
Yes, but I play 40K. The far more popular Sci-Fi version. When it snows and ice rains and the tracks are closed for 1/3 of the year you tend to hang onto old hobbies. Now I need to finish up that 56 TBird model...
Yeah, I never really understood those games like that, or Magic: The Gathering, or Pokemon, or any of that. They have Magic tournaments at our mall sometimes and we generally laugh at the nerds playing it. tee hee!
I used build model cars during the "off season" but I don't really have anywhere to work on them now (or much time to devote to it) so I mostly just collect car parts during the winter :dunno:
