Okay, we got rid of my wifes 97 corolla this past weekend, and i might have found a winter car for her. I found a 1988 Nissan 300ZX Turbo....unsure if its the "Shiro" Special edition, but it is completely white with white wheels, t-tops, and 132K on the motor. It needs a clutch and a slave cylinder replaced....but i can do that myself. Te guy wants 650 for it as is, but i might be able to talk him down to 400 bucks cash. has some slight rusting, but nothing serious. What do you guys think?
As a winter car?
Going from a FWD to a RWD turbo car in snow might be a bit of a "shock".
Personally all a winter car means to me is cheap and will hopefully last more than one winter.
Yeah, thats true. Its about 200 for the clutch and slave cyllinder it needs. We are going to take another look at it tommarow, and start it up and see how it runs.
i agree unless there no snow there :deal:
hehe ... no we have plenty....but i fuiger shed like driving the 300zx better than the other TurboCoupe, considering she likes small cars..... we sold her corolla to pay for our Torino cobrajet resto LOL
Does it move? Or is there no way to test the transmission and rear end for "cement mixer" noises until the repairs are done?
If you can get it for $400 then I consider it good. $650 aint bad either. If its a winter car then it should be fine. If you got it, then wanted to sell it after winter I know someone who would buy it instantly. Im driving my moms car. I have no tread left from burnouts and my heater core is done for. Good Luck man
Funny, I'd never thought of using a 300ZX as a winter car. I've always liked the Z-cars, especially the 90 and newer models...
Ahh a subject near and dear to my heart....

HAHA She wants to know how much you want for it LOL
So what year is yours???
I bought mine in 1973 and can only think of a few things I've owned longer(thanks mostly to a ex-wife, she did know better than to mess with MY car though :D )...
Tell your wife since I've had it almost 33 years guess I'll keep it...
BTW here's a pix of my oldest daughter(now 34) and me with the Cobra, just a couple of months after I bought it...
