Hehe... I wondered if anyone would say that. Now I just need to make a decision on wether to use 1.6 or 1.7 rockers with the HO cam.

I would like to have gotten the TFS stg 1 cam and some headers too... But Santa ran out of money :(

All Santa has now in his bag is 3 pennies, a ball of lint and a piece of string. Hopefully next month he'll be able to  some roller rockers and pushrods so I can get this thing to the track in the spring and maybe lay down some high 13s :D

Save up for the TFS, I wouldnt waste those parts on a stock cam.  They are less than  200 not hard to save for.  IF you put it together wou will regret it in the long run.  Heads are to big for a stock cam prolly loose performance.  But they are very nice with the right combo it will scream.  If you dont have the money for a TFS I can sell you a Crane 2040 (E-303) for 50.  Used but in great shape, not enough power for me.

Well I thought about buying t-bird85's E cam/2040 but decided to stay stock for now. The main reason is an E cam wouldn't work well with my combo. It loses torque to the stock cam below 3000 and my cobra intake wont be much good above 5500. With 2000 stall I'd be giving up too much down low. But even so the mid range pull would probably make it worth while. The biggest problem with the E cam for me is the 110 degree LSA. Apparently an E cam or 2040 wont idle well below 1000 rpm and has a nasty reputation of surging and bucking below that. Again attributable to the 110 LSA. The EEC-IV, especially with an auto trans, doesnt like less than a 112 LSA. If that cam was ground on a 112 LSA or wider I would've already sent a check. Now the 2040 would be a great cam on a carbed car with 3000-3500 stall, 4.10s and an intake that will pull to 6 grand or better. That's where it belongs! I definetly appreciate the offer though, t-bird85!

I'll probably have to wait until I rebuild the short block to cam up. That is, unless someone has a Comp XE258HR or a TFS stg 1 they want to sell for 50 bucks... didn't think so, heheh... Even so I believe this combo will be worth an honest 80 hp over the E6's and HO intake. That should keep me happy until I'm ready for the next step.

They are much happier at 114.
Crower Cams part # 15511 is known to work well with speed density 5.0's.  114 LSA 278* intake duration  282* exhaust duration
.468 intake lift  .486 exhaust lift (with 1.6 ratio rockers)
