Title: 1986 Cougar LS 5.0 $300
Post by: cougrrr302 on December 02, 2005, 09:31:34 PM
Bought her Wednesday. $300. Nice for a running car, needs oxygen sensor.
Heres a few pics I got with the Digital. Either it was originally Blue or it has a new header panel, hence the 84 grill. I need to check the paint code. I now have 3 84 grills. One on each car and original from my 84.

I dont know if I want to keep the 5.0 and drive it till it goes. I have a 351 and a c4 waiting for it. What do you think.

I say throw in the 351. If you get it running and on the road, you will never get around to it. But then again, I would finish the 84 car first. Also, is there any real power diffrence, from the seat of the pants, between the 84 and 86?

I would have jumped on that deal right away too.
That car looks good.  Go with 351 TC rear end a 5speed and you will have my old car.

Haystack-I dont know if there is a power difference. I havent driven the 86 yet. Gotta go get it from the dealer. The 84 is practically done. Its staying stock, and now im replacing that god ed heater core.
SirChirpAlot-Ive always wanted a 5 speed in one of these cars, dunno yet what ill do, gotta get the 351 first, I work with the guy today though.
Thanks so far. Anyone wanna replace my heater core for me before i shoot myself. On Cool Cats just reading that makes me wanna die.

Heater cores aren't too bad to replace.
It's just the diassembly and reassembly of everything that is time consuming.
Take your time and make sure you remember where all of the screws, bolts etc.  go.
Good luck!
