I know a SN-95 8.8 rear end will fit into my 88 t-bird but will the front suspention fit too ? i want to just undo the strut tower bolts and the others by the springs (hopeing its like the 5.0 fox mustang) and pull it out all one peice. and bolt it on to my car .
Z
yep. get the lower a-arms too.
sweet . what do all the parts i need run for at an auto wreakers ?
Z
Well that would depend upon which auto wrecker you patronize.
I would guess a couple hundred bucks at least for all the pieces you need. If you can, get your parts from a '99 or newer 'Stang. They have dual-piston PBR calipers up front.
will the '99 or newer stang parts still bolt up like the SN-95 will? should i go for a '99 or newer rear end too ? when i order my lowering springs should i order them for a stang or t-bird ?
Z
technically the 99s are still sn95 (me's thinks)..all be it...new edge mustangs. yes the 5 lug stuff will bolt up. as Jim said...they have better brakes up front too boot. just try to get everything from the same ca to avoid any possible complications....good luck dude...
Oye, my 5-lug swap looks like it is going to cost ~$2500.

ouch!
i did mine on my 93 mustang for under $400 w/ bullit wheels and tires.
spindles were $25ea
wheels w/ tires were $250
frpp lug kit was $40
ranger axles were $70pair (they are shorter than 87-88 tbirds)
rotors, calipers, and drums were free :D
, that's pretty expensive. Did you already buy all the parts and whatnot? If you aren't in a rush to do the swap, I should be getting my wheels next week(I should've already had them by now, and I'm pissed off I don't), and with the wheels I got adapters. I'm only paying 250 for all 4 adapters but thats cuz I'm getting wheels from them too so I don't know the normal price. Anyway, if you want to wait, I'll take pics when I get them and let you know how they bolt up and everything.
Here's the site I'm gettin the adapters from:
http://www.autogainesville.com/wheels/wheel_adapters.htm (http://"http://www.autogainesville.com/wheels/wheel_adapters.htm").
Also, I don't know if your interested in getting wheels from them or not but they will drill to any pattern you want and I believe that there is no extra charge, just a longer wait for them.
My swap is a little more complete than yours, plus my 7.5" is near dead, so I need a new 8.8". My swap includes control-arms, CC plates, tie-rods, e-brake cables, new wheels and tires, U-joints, and other assorted things.
Why? The a arms on an '87-88 Bird are the same as '94-04 Stang arms correct?
They use different ball-joints.
