Does anyone have any info on the rear glass or seal for 87/88 T-bird.
I have several people looking for a rear window for me, but no luck. My rear seal is leaking (the rubber has split about 4"). I have found out that the seal comes with the window. But there is no available window in the US.
The glass installer I have used in the past was a little hestitant about trying to take a window from a junker.
From what I understand, in 1988 there were two types of seals. One was the metal-style carried over from 1987; later on in the year there was the rubber one which you have. I don't believe anyone has found a replacement seal for it yet. You can try a search on http://www.natomessageboard.com or http://www.turbotbird.com's FAQ section for more information.

-not even your local glass companys?? surely some one some where can order one from the NAGS number. you would think, anyway. according to the ford catalog, the early metal mldg one was all replaced by the later rubber seal one.....just for fun, the is a ford dealer in Bettendorf, iowa that shows one on locator, if interested....:giggle:
OH WELL....
Thanks for the replies. I called the Ford dealer in Iowa. That part number for the window seal is used for a fuse. Back to the starting line.:nono: I'm trying to see if someone can make a seal for these cars (it's a start).
i feel your pain. i've got two 88's. one with the metal and one with rubber. the rubber is splitting bad. the metal one looks so much better but you cant retrofit it over. sucks to have to replace a whole window because of a bad seal:mad:
Please Update. Any luck in finding either of the rear window molding/seal? Mine is metal.
