The blower motor squeaks. Would getting some lube in there help it or is this a sign of a blower going out?
Door locks acting up. Drivers' door lock will sometimes go down, but when I unlock the doors, the drivers' side lock motor just vibrates loudly. Any thoughts?
Your blower motor is preparing to seize up on you. It might last for years or it might go tomorrow (My Dakota has been doing it for a year now). The bearings are not serviceable in it (in fact, they're not bearings, they're brass bushings).
Your driver's door lock is failing as well. You might try lubricating the latch mechanism (from inside the door) if the is hard to push down, but more likely the lock motor is failing. The part is discontinued from Ford, but you can make Mustang/other Ford lock motors work by using your linkage, or you can jerry-rig a universal motor in - that's what I did, and what I've now got to do for the passenger's side, that just failed this week.
i don't miss power locks at all. i like my manual locks just the way they are.
Well, the lock works fine when using the and the key. I'll leave if for now.
As for the blower motor. I suppose I'll just have to wait 'til it goes, then drop the cash for a new one. Does the blower come out through the dash or the engine compartment?
The way it sounds to me is that the power door lock motor linkage has come loose form the lock mechinisim. I had this happen on my bird. Mine was the little plastic rod clip broke and It needed a new one to hold the rod into the mechinisim. The blower should come out the passenger side floor board.
Comes out under the dash... In fact the whole plentum assembly has to come out, better do the heater core while its apart...
