Title: SO how much do stock replacement fuel pumps go for?
Post by: bduly on November 18, 2005, 06:28:51 PM
So, my fuel pump took a dump the other night (at least I think). I was driving and the car stuttered and shut off. I had plenty of fuel and it would fire upon start up but I had no throttle response with the pedal to keep it running. If not the fuel pump what could it be? Ignition module? Does anyone know the price for a stock replacement fuel pump for an '88 5.0 bird? Thanks guys.

They are not even worth it. Grab an aftermarket one ASAP.

Make sure it's the pump first...you should be able to easily hear it cycle when you click the key to the run position

I actually priced one out just to see when I put my 255 lph pump in.  My 255 cost $140....AutoHole wanted over $300 dollars for the stocker which has a 66 lph flow rate.  BTW Walbro makes most of the aftermarket and stock pumps for these applications.

Run computer codes before you spend big bucks.  Mine sputtered & died & wouldn't run right, and it ended up being the TPS.
