Post by: Lx-tasy on November 10, 2005, 12:01:05 AM
What procedures are needed to weld sump a gas tank? I have a wide variety of tools and an awesome welder but I have never welded a gas tank and am kinda nervous on doing it.Any info from someone who has done it would greatly be appreicated.
 Thanks,
  Chris

Everthing I have read about it that you dont weld a used tank. But if you absolutely have to, weld it with water in it. Just leave the part you are welding uncovered or youll never get any heat there.

Thanks for your help but there has to be something I can do to sump my tank.I knew people in Jersey that welded tanks but that was like 10 years ago, and of course I am in FL now.
 Thanks,
