Title: I may be crazy....
Post by: Funky Cricket on November 09, 2005, 10:18:25 AM
so i was thinking of my two car passions the other day..

T'birds.. (of course)
and
Ford I6's.

then I was thinking..

A t'bird with a stossed out 200..

has anyone heard of this being done.
not that I could do it now, but maybe in the future, would be unique, thats for sure, and a good use for a 3.8 bird, would still be a "6"
anyway, just thinking outloud.

Going to happen to mine next winter....

Getting an Aussie aluminum x-flow head/intake/etc and am going to mate that to a US 200 bottom end....and drop it in the 83 Tbird.

The parts are on their way from Australia as we speak.....

Nope...wasn't going to wait..and then pay alot more for it.  I wanted the x-flow set-up anyway....

Maybe on down the line I can swing one of the later OHC engines....the SWEET ones.

Mine is going to be EFI/turboed....

how are you doing the EFI.. taking the efi from a truck 300, or make a custom..

(you know when you get it done, i am going to have to steal it, right..)

the cross flows are sweet, and the look cool as heck too. and lots for room for the turbo set up on the exaust side.

All the EFI stuff is coming with the head....it will be controlled by the MegaSquirt (which I'm installing this winter to run the 2.3T currently in there)

Either way you go, that will be one fast and unique ride.  Good luck, but if anyone here can pull it off, it'll be you. Can wait to see all the pics.

the problem with the 250 ci is that it is the same block as the 300, much longer and a bit heavier.

even with our long hoods it might be a tight fit for the "big block" inline.

can't wait to see those pics rolling in, are you gunna be posting on fordsix.com forums?

The 250 is a "small block" like the 200.  It's just a little taller.  The head/intake etc I'm getting are from a 250.

I'll probably be posting pics and such when I start getting work done on it.  I still don't have my parts in hand yet, but I'll do the head mods first and I'm either going to use the 45K block from my Z-7 (if I get the 2.3T swap done in  it any time soon) or just find another shortblock to work with.
