I got 4 Cragar SS for cheap...
They were all rusty and dirty
I rubbed them with Stainless Steel cleaning Powder and Magic!
See by yourself...
2x 15"x10"
2x 15"x7
In the front, I need to space em about 1" to clear the Caliper.
The question is :
Is this Legal and safe?
I dunno about legal, I'm sure there's plenty of guys out here with ways around your mounting dilemma but, from personal experience, if the price was too good to be true, I would really be concerned with cracks. I've seen OLDER sets of Crager SS rims at swap meets at dirt cheap prices but, when you go over them with some magnification ( I was lucky enough at the time to have access to a complete metals lab) you can find cracks around the bolt hole center that would make you a little goosey about running 'em on anything more powerful than a lawnmower.
Just some advice from a guy who's seen a lot of strange things in the auto parts world over the years.
If you know the history of the rims, take a shot at mounting 'em but, if your at all in doubt you might wanna have 'em magnafluxed or similar process. If they show any cracks you might wanna re-apply the dirt and sell 'em to someone else.
I would just throw a spacer on.
I paid 100$(Can $) :tg:
They look good to the eyes.... I dont have adjustable magnifying eyes (yet) :giggle: but they look ok...
If there is cracks on em, they are microscopic... cause i aint see nothing... thank for the advice.
They were sitting in the backstore of a Used-parts with the other mags they had. I saw em when looking for some other parts with the employe. He had no idea he had those in stock until I showed him. So, I dont know their history...
I'm asking about the spacer because this car will have to pass inspection before it can be used on the road.
