Title: Rocker Panels Exchangeabe?
Post by: LSX on October 29, 2005, 04:43:11 PM
Mythos has some very bad rocker panels. KATie(my dead cat ) on the other hand, the  Rockers are in OK condition.

Can they be cut out and replaced without causing loss of integrity to the car ?

I'm not sure you'd be able to cut them out without destroying them. You might try a sheet metal shop - most can make rocker panels up for not much money.

are they rusty or just damaged?

replacing the rocker panels is a involved job and requires alot of cutting and welding.

Rusted isn't a good word. A proper one would be rotted, at the point just aft of the front tire has a whole bigger then my fist. :(

ahh, got ya.  I would  and add  some subframe connectors to help strenthen it. the as long as you done one side at a time i wouldnt see a problem exchanging them. just time consuming. would probly be better if you could to patch the hole-s with fabricated sheet metal patches?
