Title: tail light painting????
Post by: 1badcougar on October 13, 2005, 08:32:22 PM
I have pulled a set of tail light s apart to remove the reflector. I would like to paint the back part of the housing and repaint the black stripe on the red lense. Do I need a paint more for plastic or can I just use any type of spray paint? I had sprayed the bulb side of the rear housing with a chrome/silver paint made for models. This didn't get shiny like I was expecting it to. I was thinking of changing the black stripe to a different color (maybe gold) but not sure if it would look good.

When I repainted my stripe black on my lights I used Plasti Kote spray paint. It was the black bumper and trim paint. It's not too glossy and it's not flat either. It's been 2 1/2 years and it still looks like I just painted it.
