Question: What to do about the bra...
Title: The Braless Cat...
Post by: 5.0willgo on October 09, 2005, 09:49:50 PM
I've had the bra off for a couple months now. Now you can see why I chose to put a bra on it. Now it's been off so I'm kind of used to it being gone and not sure if I want to put it back.
Now looking at it compared to the pic in my sig, I like it better with the bra.:dunno:

Looking for opinions.
Should it stay or should it go?
Yeah, I know the car's dirty, weather's been py here.

Just paint the bumper and call it good.

I think it looks better with it, paint the bumper and put it back on to keep things nice

Basically what everyone else said. Don't like em general, but your car just isn't the same without it. Leave it on. :)

Mask off and spray paint the bumper "molding" part and no one should be able to tell.  If you take the time to sand it and prime and do all the steps right, it should turn out fairly decent to hold you over until you decide to paint the whole car.

My opinion is to keep the bra off.

my vote is to also leave it off

I'd paint your bumper cover and leave it off.  Most everyone I know who has a bra is just covering up something!  However I agree that it does not look that bad on your car.

If there is a car that a bra looks good on it's a white one, plus you don't have to worry much about fading.  I worked at a carwash in high school and everone with a bra had major fade problem.  Prob. wouldn't be a big deal if you waxed like you are supposed to but still.  They also tend to trap dirt.  Besides it's not much confort haveing a flawless front end when the rest of the car is worn normally.  Maybe if you had to drive on gravel a lot it would make sense.

Wow, split right down the middle 50-50.

I did have some fading but the car just has some py paint on it. After leaving the bra off for a while, it's now pretty much evened out.

That was the idea;)

Well I think I'm going to leave it on for now.
I'm thinking the car just needs something right now.
The bumper cover really looks better in the picture. It's soooo chipped and cracking on the top. Just can't find a color that's close enough to my white that works. This thing's like appliance white or something, I have no idea.

The car has some rust and stuff so some new doors and fenders are in line along with a TC hood that's sitting in my basp00get.
I plan on getting the car painted within the next year or so(I hope), so then the bra will be permanently removed.

Just trying to see what everyone thought.
Thanks for your input!:D

Any more comments... don't be shy, bring em on!!

Gotta support those headlights:rollin:

Once I put the TC hood on, I'll probably paint the scoups black and get a set of headlight covers. That should be enough to balance out the white. But that won't happen until I can get the car painted.

Thinking about a rear spoiler but just have to find the right style that fits my taste.

If it was mine, I'd paint the bumper and slap on a pair of headlight covers. I think that would give it something!

There's my ten cents worth. :D

My image of Chuck is forever changed. He's no longer an 'Anarchy in the UK' punk, but a little green pointy eared midget with a stick.

I say keep it off, my '86 has one on it currently, and as soon as it's running again, it's coming off and never going back on.  IMHO they just don't look right on any car.  Just my :2c:

Plus they wear your clear off, and if they're left on long enough will wear right through the paint and even start on the fibreglass pieces. And the clips will collect dirt and start boring a rust hole through your fenders, which is a pain to deal with down the road.

I'm going to try to paint the bumper. If it turns out good, the bra may be gone but if the bumper looks bad, it will stay.
May be an on a week/ off a week kind of thing.

You could save up $300 and have a bodyshop paint it for you.

I'm going to go against that for now just because I'm just looking for a temporary fix. I'll have a shop paint the entire car for me when I'm ready, but I'm not going to put a lot of money in a patch.
I repainted the bottom half of the drivers side of the car using rattle can paint and it turned out pretty good.
Unless I get a spray gun for Christmas ...heyyy...
Santa starts coming around to malls the first weekend after Thanksgiving... right?:giggle:
