Title: Thunderbird TCR
Post by: Ether947 on October 09, 2005, 07:53:42 PM
Here's my new Bird. :D An 88 TC w/ T-5. The interior is mint. Way better than Darkthunder. The headliner is intact as well. xD The outside is a little rough... go some rust spots, the hood is junk and along with a few other things. Somebody loved this car on the inside but hated it's guts on the outside. The wheels I'm not to fond of... there ok. I'll keep em until the 5-lug conversion. Maybe. :) Anyhoos, here's a few pics.

Nice find - someday I will find a Turbo Coupe, and then I'll show you... I'LL SHOW YOU ALL!!!

Ok, I'm feeling better now. You call that rust? Hell, around here they have that much rust on 'em when they're new. That's quite some paint job on that bumper cover though :yuck:

Glad to see you found a good replacement for Darkthunder...

Paid $300 plus the 86 Celebrity... which I got for free. xD I noticed overspray on alot of the cars there. A fox stang had red tailpipes. lol. Oh and I'll go out and end the 4-lug/5-lug in a little bit.

re-painted dash, or overly armor all'ed?

Yep lotsa armour all. I was quite suprized myself... :) The camera doesn't do it justice... especially with that 1,000,000 watt mega multi-flash extravaganza.

Got the rear 5-Lug conversion done. :) Kinda wish I had lowered it though. But it's my dd, and michigan roads ain't no joke.

Pics suck because the garage is tiny. lol.

Looks cool with those stang rims. How the hell are you able to do a five lug conversion so quick when i cant seem to replace a heater core?

cool beans. Do any other center caps fit that rim? it looks pretty good on that car. with a drop down of course.

I could probably 5-lug a car in the same amount of time as it took me to put the heater core in the TC. Niether is a bad job.

I like the tri-bars, i thought about putting some on my TC, painted black of course ;)

this is my 3rd 5-lug conversion... it's pretty easy. with drums you can do it in an afternoon. i've done roughly the same in heater cores... i'll take the 5-lug any day. :)

i'm still looking for tbird centers that will fit. i'm just going to go to the boneyard one day and see what i can find.

i'm still thinking about painting mine black and leaving the lip. then i could fill the centercap in and paint matching will be easy breezy.

Well I'm still looking for parts for a 5 lug, once i get some money. Plus I gotta pick up a Good heater core, not Autozone. I havent done either, but I would rather try Lug conversion anyday. That dash scares me.

Heater core is easy. Just be patient, and take your time. Dont rush.

Took me one hour to change my heater core.

I was cold (imagine that, changine a heater core) so I rushed through.  I didn't put the A/C dryer back on.

Dont mean to hijack but does anybody know where you can find those rims? The ones that were on it when you got it not the Stang rims.
