is it possibl to make my 5.0 cougar have that mustang sound to it?? if so what would i need to have that exact or similar sound??

mustang exhaust from the headers back would be my guess.  or thats where I would start. I'm trying for the same sound from my 79 5.0 cougar  if I can get a set of headers to fit next to the steering box :flame:

Most folkes don't believe it, but the firing order of the HO cam has a lot to do with that "certain" sound(most definatly different than any engine  Ford/Chevy/Chrysler/etc. other than the 351s and especially the Cleveland version) So if you really want that sound, a HO conversion will be in order as well as true duals with performance lers.

With just the exaust system it will be a lot more "mellow", but just not quite the same.

i have Hedman headers and Flowmasters with straight pipes so all i would need is HO cams and it would give my car a mustang sound?
