why would you want to do 100 mph on a city street. that is so beyond stupid.
I can see racing on back deserted roads, abandoned industrail parks, and legal drags strips but plowing through intersections and stop lights like that is just asking to kill someone or your self.
i just don't get it. a drag strip can't be that far away.
Its the adrenaline rush that occurs when one does this, hell im not gonna lie i have street raced shiznit did it just last weekend, yes its childish and immature and highly dangerous. If i race its at early hours of the morning around 3 or so. I know i will get flamed but im not gonna be a hypocrite.
I'll admit that I have also street raced, it is very stupid but its also funny to beat a 5.0 or a 4.6 with a 2.3 :D
Depents where you live. Nearest drag strip to me 2 hour drive. The locals here think its a bad idea to have a local strip.
There would be too much racing after hours and after the track closed.
There was a group that tried to build one in the middle of nowhere, like 30min from my house, and the local farmers complaind about the traffic and undesirable coming through there neighbor hood.
Gotta love closed minded people.
Don't be a hypocrite then, and stop street racing. Then you can say you don't and won't be lying. Be like the rest of the intelligent population and put that shiznit behind you.

well i'm a Mod on a local Street racing board for my area.
We have Wend night get together that always ends in racing.
But its done out of the way in industrail area's
We make sure there are no cars at all on the road and we do are best to keep people off the road that watch.
Big prob is not street racing as street racing is known its more friends speeding and passing one another hacking around. Thats to them is not street racing but to other people its seen as so. And alot of crashs have been blamed on racing when it was road rage, careless or just bad drivers.
That stuff would get your car taken away and auctioned off, down here. (street racing)

My favorite part of that article is when the defense attorney calls him a "really good guy" Do you know how many times I've heard that about a guy I've put cuffs on from one of their friends who happens to be there? Guess what? He wasn't a good guy at THAT particular time!

i raced on the streets a few times, on the highway, or back roads (and i mean back roads.. i lived in the middle of no where) or a few abandoned indestrial parks. no one else around, no intersections, and no chance of public drivers. I have done light to light races up to like 45-50 mph, but never faster in city. I just don't see attempting to kill someone as a high. take it back where you will only kill yourself, or go to a drap strip, or petition the police to take a thurs. night and block off some low traffic road to do some legal street racing on. I have raced, just never like the rice crowd seems to do it. i can't wrap my head around doing it, knowing HOW dangerous it is like that.
