Very nice car indeed.
I have been trying for almost 10 years to get this old guy to sell his 427 cougar sititng in his back yard.  I get same old song and dance I will resore it someday.

I could so put a color like that on one of my cars.. but not sure how well it would go with a dark blue interior. :p

And that would be one of the colours I've been planning for my two tone. :D

Heh.. my next two-tone is likely to be a redo of the crystal blue (looks almost silver sometimes) on the top of the '89 Mark, with sonic blue on the bottom of the car and on the trim. But I'd love to find a way to work a color like that (or the black cherry color on that special RX8 model) into one of these projects.

:hick: I didn't do the rendering, though. The molding will stay, because I'm not giving up my turning lamps. Though, they will be the candy apple on the bottom, (not this orange stuff. Can't complain when someone else did it for you).

I have never seen a sun-roof on a 69, do you think this is stock?

It also has power windows, I owned one once with power windows but has never seen another one.  I have been called a liar because a lot of Cougar experts say it was not an option in 1969.

I love the fact that it is getting bids so high, I know that it's perfect but Cougars normally do not sell this high.  Nice to see the value may be going up.

From the pictures, I'd bet he has $25+K in the resto...

He's added and changed some things... It has the high back '70 seats, the Ram Air setup was only available on the 428s. Not sure about the sunroof, I'm thinking it was available.

History lesson....

Thats a later model AM-FM('72 +), the '69 radios did not have Philco(were mfg by Bendix) on the dial. The '70-'71 AM-FM radios(again Bendix) actually had "Cougar" on the dial. The AM only radios were built by Philco starting '68..

Hey,
Since we're talking older Cougars on Ebay, did anybody see this one recently that didn't sell for $2500?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=4578307561&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT

That is a nice car for the money.  The interior looked exceptional (what's a couple torn seat seams), the motor looks clean and supposedly runs fine, and the body didn't appear to have any rot.  I'd have bought that car in a second, if it wasn't for that darn ole' $$ thing, and the distance.  I'm a sucker for '69 Mustangs over the '70 models, but I think I like the '70 Cougars over the '69's.  Just my $0.02.
