Hey guys I have a favor to ask. If any of you are good with computer art I was wondering if someone could design a intake cover plate for me. I looking for something to replace the standard 5.0 Liter EFI intake plate. I was thinking something along the lines of the cobra style intake plate but having it read 5.0 LITER THUNDERJET with a 85-97 Bird logo underneith it and made to fit on a stock 5.0 intake manifold. If any one can do this I wil be in your debt  . Thanks.
Eric, I think this one's yours bro. ;)
Sheesh, I didn't even see this thread until just now. Sorry for the delay!
Hope this is what you're looking for:

But, isn't a thunderjet an actual motor? Isn't this the same as putting a VTEC sticker on your 1.6L CX?
Anyway, it looks awesome, I just think Thunderbird would be better than Thunderjet. But I'm an idiot like that.
yes but he named his CAR thunderjet.. so it does not say anything about his MOTOR
hehe.
Thanks Eric that's what i was looking for :D ! Incase anyone is wondering Thunderbirds from 1968-1972ish I believe used to have their motors called Thunderjets. They were the 429 and 460 V8s but they were the same as the 429 or 460 that went in a LTD or Galixy. They just called them Thunderjets because they were in Tbirds. Since the Tbird was an "image" car like the Mustang ( which had a Cobra Jet, which was different than the standard passenger car engine) Ford had to give the engine a fancy name so people thought it was special. Just wanted to make sure that you guys knew where I got the name/idea from. And I figured that it fit because my 5.0 is basically a standard passenger car engine like the original Thunderjet was.
No, he's going about this all wrong. He needs to get himself a 429 Thunderjet. :tg: There is only one right way to do this.

Hmmm? Something didn't look right to me. How's this?
I think Eric's got it correct, he's not trying to create a 3d effect, just show the shape of the plate while putting regular lettering inside.
Hmm both look good to me. Now I have to decide.
Oldraven I'de put a 429 Thunderjet in if I had money to get the engine, a C6 trans, a 9" rear, and strengthen the subframes :tg: . Don't worry I'm actually thinking about doing a 460 swap in a few years when I finish college. Can you say huge burnout :hick: !
I know...but the unparallel horizontal lines creates an optical illusion that makes the left side of the text look narrower than the right. IMO FWIW
Eric's may look fine once it's on the intake but on the screen it looks strange.
Yes I can.
HUGE BURNOUT! :hick:
Good for you :hick: !
Yeah, I see what you mean by that, and i'm sure once it's on the intake it'll look alright because it won't be viewed straight on anyway.
460's a freaking awsome, i had one in my f-250, and i could roast some tire, i took this truck offroading, i had no problem with a lack of power, just that face that it's too heavy, so make sure you get some aluminim heads for it !! besdies, they make more power any way
