Just thought I would post a few pics of the PC I just built. Not a speed machine but I left room to upgrade if I want to later. I had fun putting it together. Just not having 50 programs I don't need on it when I finished like you get when you buy one from the store was worth the little bit of extra trouble. The HP I was using ped out a couple of weeks ago so I had to overnight the parts and get a new one back up so my wife could get back on ebay. She was freaked for the few day(http:// (http:// (http:// s without that computer. lol Jason.
nice looks like a custom job, what u got in it?
Is that an A8V-E motherboard?
That looks almost like mine minus the lights and window.
I like the way it looks.
yeaht hats the same motherboard i got hehe
Same here.
Suround sound, Fire wire, ...
Can't beat it for the price.
Yeah, thats it. I payed just enough to get the the little goodies I wanted. I have been wanting to put one together for a while so when my other pc went down I overnighted the parts in and got it rolling ASAP. It is my first one so I am playing with things and learning lots. I only put 512mb ram at 400mhz. I figure I can add two more of those if I want and get all I need out of it. The processor is athlon 64 2800 with hyper transport. and the video is 128mb pci express x 16. I didn't want to dump a bunch of money into it as I am spending about all I can spend on the T-Bird parts. I am looking at getting a dvd burner, but I want one that etches the labels on the cd. I think that's pretty cool. My oldest daughter said the wire tubing looked like blood vessels.
Not a bad PC.. I just don't like PCs with windows. That stuff started becoming more popular as I was getting out of PC work. When I customized cases, it was for functionality like more case fans. Now it's just showing off a bunch of ugly hardware. (I mean PC hardware in general)
Mine does fine in a bland eMachines mini-ATX case with a fan cut into the side for the vid card.. so I can't complain much. Think I could use a new CPU and vid card soon, though. Games are starting to slow down. Just hope I can find a decent new AMD-based board in mini-ATX.
we are sad when we can look at a MB and tell its make and model.. *sigh* nice machine though. congrats.
do you like the MSI video card? I haven't heard much about thier pci-E stuff..
Holy ricer lights for teh PC......not like i have much room to talk with the neons in my xbox.
Your cable skills need work. Of course I've been doing that for two years now. For a while every PC I made was a custom window case. Not bad though. I'm not usually a fan of loom but it helps.
Thanks for the compliments guys.
I was thinking about using an big old gateway case and painting it, but I was in a rush to get it done. Besides if it gets a little dirty I will have to clean it or it will look bad so it might be good for the health of the pc anyways.
Yeah, I have to go back in at least two more times. I will work on it a little more. I like the wire loom, I haven't seen it used like that on a pc yet. Beside's to the average person coming into my house that sees it thinks it's the coolest pc ever, only those who do this kind of thing a lot would notice anything that's wrong.
As far as the video card....I wouldn't know. I haven't put it to the test yet with any games. I don't have time to play with all my spare time going to the t-bird right now. I don't know very much about the specifics from one to the next anyway. All of the stuff I picked out was basically just a little above the cheapest stuff. I did it that way so I wouldn't spend a lot and it would last for a while.
ya i just got a new pc built myself, its a custom job with all the trick stuff its got a 3200 AMD 64 Athlone and 1 gig of ram and 256 meg 800xpro radeon vid card, i neede a comp my old one was a g3 mac like 6 years old did the job but it was slow :yuck:
