Burned tranny fluid may appear orange or light brown.  The white is from water mixing with a petroleum product (oil, tranny fluid, etc...).  Was the pavement wet from recent rain or anything like that?

I think I have seen an orange antifreeze, it was the kind that is supposed to be friendly to the enviroment.  There is also orange washer fluid, but I guess you would know if you put that in the car.
