The weighted average price for all three grades surged more than 38 cents to nearly $3.04 a gallon between Aug. 26 and Sept. 9, said Trilby Lundberg, who publishes the semimonthly Lundberg Survey of 7,000 gas stations around the country.
Self-serve regular averaged $3.01 a gallon nationwide, according to the survey. Midgrade was pegged at about $3.11, while premium-grade was at nearly $3.21.
Adjusted for inflation, the nation's previous high weighted average for all three grades was $1.38 a gallon in March 1981. That would be $3.03 in current dollars. :america: :flip:

Prices went down here yesterday almost $0.06/L. It was $1.48/L early summer. Now it's $1.014/L

gas around here is 2.77 for regular
It's 2.17 at the 7-Eleven about 1/4 mile from my house. Which is the cheapest I know of, most of the other stations are 10-20 cents higher.

$2.25 @ Moody AFB GA
This weekend a QuickTrip had regular at $2.07 and a Walmart was $2.06. There were probably 30 or more cars lined up at both of those places. Everywhere else in the area was $2.29 still. I think the oil company profits backlash is coming now that the cat is out of the bag and they know it. So I expect prices will fall a bit... Hopefully!!!
By the way, these prices are in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. I'm not in WA anymore, just cant figure out how to change that...
Around here depending on where you go, gas is between $2.18 to $2.35 a gal. for regular.
Yeah ist about $2.45 high around here for regular. I find its funny, gas companies made 75% more in the last two months then normal, with 25% less gas.
Yeah the oil company execs aren't hurting to put food on the table I'm sure. $2.45 for regular here. How come everyone else is paying less? Maybe harder to bring gas into the mountains.
$2.42 here.:brick:
83.4c/L most places around here. :)
oil companies just reported all time record profits for the last quarter (Q3). RECORD, mind you. jerks are just taking us all for a ride, nearly bankrupting me, and now i have more credit card debt, just to get to work, cause the want more money. grr.. insert string of swear words here.
I am sure that the oil companies aren't hurting. Not trying to be mean or anything. Lemme see if I can find my report I read earlier. THis is a local paper that has been published online, but I think that it still works.

10 BILLION in profits and 100 BILLION in total revenue for Exxon/Mobil. Amazing how when a few Senators talk about a price gouging investigation the prices go down (at least for most of you....It's still up around $2.60 regulap and $2.90 premium here....)
