Post by: cougarpower51 on September 11, 2005, 07:50:12 PM
The weighted average price for all three grades surged more than 38 cents to nearly $3.04 a gallon between Aug. 26 and Sept. 9, said Trilby Lundberg, who publishes the semimonthly Lundberg Survey of 7,000 gas stations around the country.

Self-serve regular averaged $3.01 a gallon nationwide, according to the survey. Midgrade was pegged at about $3.11, while premium-grade was at nearly $3.21.
Adjusted for inflation, the nation's previous high weighted average for all three grades was $1.38 a gallon in March 1981. That would be $3.03 in current dollars. :america:  :flip:

It's 2.17 at the 7-Eleven about 1/4 mile from my house. Which is the cheapest I know of, most of the other stations are 10-20 cents higher.

This weekend a QuickTrip had regular at $2.07 and a Walmart was $2.06. There were probably 30 or more cars lined up at both of those places. Everywhere else in the area was $2.29 still. I think the oil company profits backlash is coming now that the cat is out of the bag and they know it. So I expect prices will fall a bit... Hopefully!!!

By the way, these prices are in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. I'm not in WA anymore, just cant figure out how to change that...

Yeah the oil company execs aren't hurting to put food on the table I'm sure.  $2.45 for regular here.  How come everyone else is paying less?  Maybe harder to bring gas into the mountains.

I am sure that the oil companies aren't hurting. Not trying to be mean or anything. Lemme see if I can find my report I read earlier. THis is a local paper that has been published online, but I think that it still works.

10 BILLION in profits and 100 BILLION in total revenue for Exxon/Mobil.  Amazing how when a few Senators talk about a price gouging investigation the prices go down (at least for most of you....It's still up around $2.60 regulap and $2.90 premium here....)
