Post by: a-rush-for-more on September 10, 2005, 04:11:27 PM
i want to get one of the smaller s/c pulleys to make more boost but dont want to pay 70.00-100.00 for one. so if anyone has on could the measure it and tell me the diameter so i cam make one on my dads lathe.

He was just trying to point out not many of us know about the MN12 cars. We mostly deal with the fox car. The MN12 series started in 89 were as the fox series stopped in 88.

You might try looking for pullies of a GTP they ran the same M90 super charge. You might find more info on those cars beings they are newer. I work with someone that is running a super coupe pully on his GTP thats why I suggested it. Other than that can't help ya.

youre going to want more mods to the car before you look into swapping pulleys

you need to, at the very least, put a full exhaust on the car, guys who bump up the boost with stock exhaust commonly blow headgaskets due to the rising temps and cylinder pressures

do all the basic stuff first, intake, exhaust, and then thing about the pulley

the problem with a home made pulley, is that they generally lead to belt slipping

this is a drag car in the works, im putting ported and polished 95 mustang 3.8 tubular manifolds on tommorow and then 40 series flowmaster about 2 feet behind the manifolds so the exhaust is considered done. iv got a cold air intake and a 70 mm t/b and a 70mm maf sensor so would the pulley be able to be put on now?

Go to tccoa.com.  They're more about the MN12's than most everyone around here.

Yeah, that's what I meant...  I always get the two mixed up.  I don't regularly read either one.
