These just arrived today. I haven’t permanently mounted them; I wanted to get some opinions first.
different!but cool.
Very Cool I Wish I Could Get Some For My 87 Xr-7.the Rear And Side
I think they're cool. :ies:
:d
HMMM I DID IT NOW ILL GO PAINT THEM ON THE OL CAT :locked:
Nice! You've gotta get some rubber on that car though- something to fill up those rear wheelwells :D
I was just thinking the same thing.
I don't know what to say. . . I'm scared. :giggle:
They would be cool for the couger, but I just don't think they'd look right.
If I had a T-Bird, I'd definately look for some louvers. I love 'em.
Did you find someone that makes those? I've been looking for some forevers.
I'm working on that, I recently purchased a set of refinished snowflakes. I have some plans in the works for next summer, I just got to get the money first. I have an 8.8 out of a '87 TC sitting in the garage to go on it, with new KYB gas adjust shocks and quad shocks, plus the snowflakes. I just need to get some money so that I can get tires. This is what I want to put on. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Bridgestone&tireModel=Potenza+RE750&vehicleSearch=true&partnum=26WR6RE750&fromCompare1=yes&place=0
Actually I found them on E-bay, they were still in the original box from 1985. A company out of California made them. The company name is Interpart and the part number is A48031. I hope this can be of some help.
i have never been a fan of those.
I hope you like them. My opinion is it just screams REDNECK! I've always thought louvers were a gaudy bad idea from the 80's. Kind of like bras. The tint looks ten times better. Smooth and clean without, but busy and makes me think of rusty old 80's Camaros with. A real Joe Dirt accessory.
Hey, you asked for opinions. :D I gave you all of mine.
I don't know...... when I see them, I think of '69 Mach 1 stangs. :ies: :headbang: :moon:
Is that a shifter in that Mach or is it just happy to see me?
Oooooooooh, I think it likes you! :giggle:
How much and where did you get that?
I like redneck stuff... Nothing wrong with them in my opinion. I'd love to sport louvers on my bird, but i doubt i could offord to buy anything for my car at the moment.
However i do think it's mighty badass, keep it always! Remember, your bird is better than all those mustangs. Tell people the bird was first.
Personally I see absolutely nothing wrong with installing 80's-style "doodads" on these cars - after all, they are 80's cars, remember. Actually, since the 87-88 models are just a tad too modern for their times, 80's heritage add-ons help to bely the car's age. I've often felt that my car goes largely unnoticed by the public because it just looks like a late model car - it's got no cues to show that it's actually older than many of the kids driving those fart-canned Civics around. It's getting on to 18 years old but still looks as modern as any late 90's to early 2000's car. A nice set of turbines or ten-holes, some white letter 60-series tires, and maybe a rear louvre is just what it needs to bring out the 80's in it.
It is not very often that I hear somebody say "Man, that car is in some shape for its age" because most people couldn't guess its age. It did happen this past weekend, though - a guy stopped in at the cottage and saw my car and started going on about it. He knew how old it is, but only because he owned one back in '88 :D
He, too, was unsympathetic with my moanings about the mileage topping 100,000 kilometers (it's now at 100,700). Seems his 2002 F150 has nearly double that mileage. Can't get no sympathy at all....
And I know when I hear something similar to that it's usually from someone 35 years of age or older.
