check for leaks in all of your fuel lines... first thing.

Get your nose and ears under the hood and check for a leaking fuel injector.  You can not see many of them, but in a quiet environment --and with a shut off engine, you will hear a faint hissing if your ear is turned/tuned to the culprit.  I detected 2 that way--after parking in the garage and closing the overhead door (engine off).  The fuel pressure (with a leak) remains up for a few minutes after shutdown, especially if the engine is hot.  You will/should smell an oily but particularly gassy odor in that area.

...Not a very safe driving deal if the guy in the vehicle to your right (dual lanes) tosses out a cigarette while stopped at a light.  I would get on it real soon.

Just a guess but I would say it's not a leaky injector ;)
