Title: Black Turbines
Post by: Ether947 on September 05, 2005, 10:45:25 AM
I painted one wheel over the weekend to see what it would look like. What do you guys think? Personally I like it, the camera phone doesn't do it much justice though. :sorry:

I have one question for you. What made you decide to paint the entire wheel black? Thought you might have painted it like the XR-7 wheel with black inserts. Not that it's bad, they look good.

I thought about painting them like that, but I was trying to go for a look that would make the wheels seem less 'busy'. The low gloss black all over seemed to have done the trick. And I really didn't want to tape it off either so it worked out pretty well. :) Plus, I've been a fan of black on black wheels for quite some time...

Doo Hoo, You forgot to remove the outside wheel weights. I think it will look good on your all black car. Are they flat black?

Yeah, I noticed that after I painted it. Oh well it needs a couple more coats anyways. As for the paint, it's low gloss black engine paint.

Cool. The whole car will have a blended sort of "monochromatic" look. I like it :D .
