Title: vacume lines
Post by: greg wys on September 04, 2005, 10:33:27 AM
this is sort of a repost :sorry: ,but I wanted a little feed back from some of the vacume experts in here. I disconected and plugged the vac line going to the top of the air cleaner from the mapp sensor on my 87 3.8, and was wondering if this would cause me any problems like a blown mapp sensor or funny run problems. Im gonna put a edelbrock air cleaner in place of the old air cleaner assy. thanks for your info guys.

map sensor is, yes, vac line runs to the valve on to air cleaner cover to open and close the door for warm exhaust air during warm up; It looks that way anyway, could be wrong but my idle went to $hit, changed it back.

the vac line that goes to the top of your air cleaner isnt too important, mine was disconnected for years

the only thing that really needs vacume under the hood is your MAP sensor, the rest of it is all emmissions; EGR, smog pump, heater riser, and shiznit like that
