Title: Vam Question
Post by: CapeBretonXR7 on August 30, 2005, 01:48:25 AM
On the 86 TC the Vam Sensor has what looks like a throttle plate. I was just wondering, does this only open when boost is being made, and can it modified to stay open. Just wondering. Thought it would increase hp. :canada:

that door is how the computer monitors how much air flows into the engine, the more it opens, the more air flowing, so its able to adjust the timing and fuel mixture

Open the door with the throttle closed and it will be so rich it melts the catalytic converter... I had one stick, I know....
